PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH

An unhealthy pelvic floor can manifest many different ways including: low back pain, hip pain, pain with sex or orgasm, unspecified pelvic area pain, any type of incontinence, having to pee frequently, a feeling that you cannot empty your bladder, post-partum issues, or a feeling of disconnection from your pelvis. This describes something that almost every woman will experience in her lifetime. These conditions are common, but common does NOT equal normal.

Traditional medicine will suggest medication or surgery for many of these issues. I offer an alternative to these treatments - or at least something to try BEFORE them. My pelvic floor health guidance includes: body awareness, breath awareness, posture/alignment, a little anatomy, some exercises and stretches - including yoga, depending on your specific issue and the best way to alleviate your symotoms.

Every person is unique, thus I encourage my clients to continue to bring awareness to their pelvis using whatever methods you are most comfortable with. Your pelvis is an extremely complicated area of your body, which usually means that each issue may have several causes and may have been building up over many years. Unfortunately, this means there is usually not one easy "fix." Pelvic floor health is a sacred journey, and a journey you deserve to take.
